Jack Antill, who ordered his men to attack and is regarded by many as a bad commander for it.

Used the word 'pathetic' to describe Lieut. Col. White's farewell at The Nek on 7 Aug 1915. 'Pathetic' then meant 'moving', or 'invoking pity'. So Antill had feelings after all. But he also had a job to do.
